"Tourism in Alexandria, the Actual and the Hoped"
The First Workshop
16-17 December 2007

Out of an original belief of the role of private education establishments to be based upon balanced importance between the practical and the academic aspects of education, High Institute for Tourism, Hotels, and Computer (HITHC) is organizing the first workshop titled: "Tourism in Alexandria, the Actual and the Hoped".

The workshop is conceptualized to be an annual meeting of all parties concerned regarding tourism in Alexandria, including but not exclusive to all educational establishments of tourism, where discussions and dialogue are held in order to study and research actual Tourism in Alexandria, the problems existing, as well as putting an action plan to overcome obstacles, and problems according to the effect of danger they represent on Tourism flow.

The initiative taken up by the High Institute for Tourism, Hotels, and Computer (HITHC) is built upon the idea that remedies and solutions offered to overcome obstacles and problems facing Tourism in Alexandria can only take place if based upon contributions offered by academic institutions and carried out by the people working in the field. Leading the way is the High Institute for Tourism, Hotels, and Computer (HITHC), with the participation of tour agencies and operators, tourism authorities whether official or non-official, hoteliers in Alexandria, interested business people, and national and international bodies interested in tourism and archaeology.
